Epikos Comics & Games – Comic Book Preorder Information
What is a preorder?
A preorder is an order placed for an item that has not yet been released. For comic books, graphic novels, manga, and collectibles, preorders allow customers to reserve copies in advance. This helps ensure you receive the items you want without worrying about them selling out before release.
What is the difference between a pull list and a preorder?
A pull list is an ongoing subscription service where specific comic book titles are automatically reserved for you each month. Preorders offer more flexibility by allowing you to select individual items as they become available.
While pull lists are generally managed months in advance and may require additional notice to add or remove titles, preorders can often be placed much closer to release, subject to availability. Both options help secure your books before they arrive in stores.
Do I pay up front for my preorder?
Yes. Payment is collected at the time your preorder is placed. This allows us to accurately determine customer demand and reserve inventory specifically for you. Because many items must be ordered months in advance, prepaid orders help ensure we can secure the quantities needed to fulfill customer requests.
What is FOC (Final Order Cutoff)?
FOC, or Final Order Cutoff, is the last date retailers can adjust their orders with publishers before books go to print. Most FOC dates occur approximately 1–2 months before release, though graphic novels, hardcovers, manga, collectibles, and specialty items may require orders much further in advance.
To guarantee availability, we recommend placing your preorder before the FOC date whenever possible.
Where can I find current preorders?
Current preorder offerings can be found on the Epikos Comics & Games website. New preorder catalogs are typically added each month as publisher solicitations become available. Special variants, cover sets, and graded-book options may be added shortly afterward.
Does Epikos Comics & Games offer preorder discounts?
Select preorder items may be offered at discounted pricing for a limited time after they are initially listed. As FOC deadlines approach, discounts may be reduced or removed. Ordering early helps us finalize our orders with publishers and allows customers to take advantage of available savings.
How does shipping work?
Orders containing items with multiple release dates will generally ship after all items in the order have been released. Most preorder items ship within 5–10 business days of release, though delays may occur due to publisher shortages, shipping issues, damages, or other unforeseen circumstances.
If replacement copies are needed, fulfillment times may be extended.
Can I combine multiple orders into a single shipment?
Yes. Customers may request combined shipping for multiple orders. This can help reduce overall shipping costs and allow several orders to be shipped together.
Please note that combined shipping may result in longer delivery times, as orders are typically held until all items included in the shipment are available.
What grade is guaranteed on preorder comic books?
We strive to provide preorder comics in Near Mint (NM) condition, generally considered 9.4 or higher. However, due to printing and manufacturing variances, we cannot guarantee specific CGC grades, including 9.8.
Is the cover shown guaranteed?
Publishers often provide preview artwork before a book is released. Images used in preorder listings may be preliminary and may not include final logos, trade dress, or other design elements.
If a listing is for a virgin variant cover, it will be clearly identified in the product title or description. Unless otherwise noted, the final printed comic may include publisher logos and trade dress not shown in preview images.
Are preorder books bagged and boarded?
Yes. Standard-size comic books are shipped bagged and boarded for protection. Exceptions may include hardcovers, trade paperbacks, manga, magazines, and oversized publications.
What if my preorder item arrives damaged?
We carefully inspect and package all items before shipment. If your order arrives damaged, please contact Epikos Comics & Games as soon as possible with photos of the damage, and our team will work with you to determine an appropriate resolution.
Can I cancel or return my preorder?
Preorders and presale items are considered final sale. Because these items are ordered specifically based on customer demand, cancellations, returns, and refunds are generally not accepted once an order has been placed.
Please review your order carefully before completing your purchase.
